What you're seeing in the tree at left appears to be fringing rather
than CA. You're going to get that with any lens in a digital
application where you have extreme contrast shift -- such as a tree
branch against a white sky. I suspect that the lens is a fine
performer. I know from experience that the 12-24 is quite excellent, as
are the other DA lenses I own.
