I've tried band shots a couple of times (my nephew's band: Richmond Fontaine, touring in Australia last time I looked).
I hated everything I did with flash. The background is always too clear.
Better to have blurred shots of just the musicians than to have sharp shots with distracting background. Given that bias, you can correctly predict that I think your shots would be improved by losing the flash next time. Shot at 1600 or 3200 if need be and rejoice in the gritty feel of the shots.

I'm asking for comments, as this may lead to more work, and i want to
see what the collective has to say. Looking for positive and negative
should they deserve either.

I am not much of an expert in shoots like this. Yet, they all seem
rather similar among themselves... Rather static.

The spot lighting is cool, though it is probably not your idea ;-).

Nope. My idea. Apparently i'm the only one who thinks it was a good idea..:-)

Also, perhaps if you posted slightly larger files, it would be easier to
detect some nicer aspects, such as play of DOF.

Like Graywolf said, it is good for a beginning. But you're already ahead
of me ;-).

I;ll have a chance to rectify the problems April 1st.:-)
