In the Custom Function Menu, enable the use of Aperture Ring.
Then an "A" lens will do everything but autofocus, all modes work. A manual
(K lens)works only in M mode and once an aperture is selected, and the
stopdown lever moved , the display will show exposure over/under in
full/tenths (ie, 2.5) .Adjust shutter to 0.0. If you want to shoot WO, then
P, M, and A will still give correct exposure.
In practice I find this pretty easy. I make one exposure reading and
shoot/check exposure on lcd. Then I can change f stop or shutter speed and
reshoot/check as I go.
I have found that sometimes the image I get on the lcd is not properly
exposed after I download to computer. Don't know why, but if I look at the
histogram it usually gives a more accurate indication of a proper exposure.
Just my .02 worth, and probably about all it's worth.
