Actually, microfiber cloths are far more likely to trap and hold grit and cause scratches. Genuine lens cleaning tissue won't scratch. Neither will toilet tissue. Facial tissue and paper towels contain titanium dioxide clay as a filler and will scratch. There is a lot of mythology on this subject.
