Well, to be excruciatingly honest about it, if the image quality hadn't been at least as good I'd have returned the Pentax within the two week satisfaction return period. I have little loyalty to any particular brand.
Once I had it, my other digital cameras sat on the shelf, the 10D included. I have no qualms about recommending the DS and a set of Pentax lenses to anyone who is serious about making high quality photographs. It's not the be-all, end-all perfect camera, it's an entry level priced DSLR after all, but the body and its lenses produce excellent quality images.
In the end, the photographer is the one who makes great photographs. The camera only does so much, and the Pentax DS does enough.
