It depends, I had a Kaidan Kiwi+ years ago and it was, lets say, inadequate at 
best, I view it as poor value. It had too much slop and flexure and wasn't at 
all easy to set to a different setting with accuracy or repeatability, I'd 
rather spend more money on something that does the job properly.

Using the custom bracket and Manfrotto slides I just refer to my little 
laminated table and I can set the offset for any of my lenses very accurately 
in seconds. Since it's all based on the Manfrotto QR plates I can just snap the 
bits together however I need so it's also very flexible and quick to set-up or 
pull down, it's also very stable. 

I do still wish to get a dedicated pano unit like the Novoflex Panorama Plate 
and a Manfrotto levelling base but it works quite well as is.
