While I love NPZ 800, between Press 800 and NPZ 800, Press will take
the underexposure better. NPZ is a lot like NPH and NPS -- good
exposure is a must.
As for pushing C-41 film, Wheatfield Willie and I seem to be the only
people who know that you can't actually push colour negative film the
same way that you can push black and white (aside from a couple of
specifically designed films that are exceptions to the rule).
Basically, if you shot two rolls of Press 800 at 1600, pushed one and
didn't push the other, the differences would be that the unpushed roll
would have better colour and less base density, and other than that
they'd be pretty similar.
