Aaron,I didn't say you should "always shoot RAW" or that you were an idiot. You asked why/when one should use RAW, and I responded ' for those situations when you want to exploit your DSLR to its fullest'. 'Better or worse than your 6x7' is irrelevant.
It's as simple as that. There's need to turn into a raving lunatic about it.
