Absolutely, every time you take a 3:2 aspect photo and make an 8x10, it's a crop.
Thats just one example.I think it prudent to include a bit more in the finder than you really want anyway.
OTOH, if you are finding that you are more often than not, cropping to excess, you really need to look at how you are shooting.
