Thanks to all who replied. I found all of the information & opinions quite
helpful. As of right now, here's what I'm leaning towards:

Most notably, you made me realize that I am under-utilizing a very nice
lens (20-35 f4). SO, with that in mind, my plan is to trade in my current
16-45mm + Polaris light meter for a new 16-45mm... and also trade in my
MZ-S and battery grip for a DA 12-24mm. Parting with the MZ-S is going to
hurt the most, but the reality is that I haven't used it but once in the
last 2 years. I probably should have sold it a LONG time ago.

With that said, my landscape / wide angle set-up will be
(approx. 35mm focal length in parentheses)

12-24mm (18-35)
20-35mm (30-52)

You've convinced me that I'll be content with that set-up for landscapes /
waterfall shots. The reason I shelved the 20-35mm before was because it
just wasn't wide enough on the ist-D, AND it was too short (for me) as my
everyday walk-around lens. This is why I've decided to still replace the
16-45mm as well, which I love to keep on the camera when I'm not hiking.

I still have two SIGMA f2.8's (24-70mm and 70-200mm) when all else fails,
but I do like that the pentax DA lenses are so much lighter in the bag.

Anyhow, the stuff I'm parting with will be on eBay as of Sunday. If anyone
is interested, you can email me beforehand. If I remember, I'll also
repost this on (for sale) Friday. Thanks again for your help,

         - Jerome

PS, selling the MZ-S will also mean I will have a ton of refrigerated
slide film to get rid of plus a few dozen pre-paid processing mailers from
Kodak and Fuji. End of an era (albeit a short era) for me (sigh).
