Aarons sports shots are pretty much under constant lighting. Unless the dome 
roof is open
and the 
shade plays its hand.

With my D1 i have great results using Av mode at  F 3.5 or so. When i was 
having WB and
exposure 
problems with the D2H, i found shooting in Tv mode was to much all over the 
place. M mode
with a 
metering of the two jumps i was to shoot worked well. Just change the shutter 
slightly
between jumps, 
as they were usually off by a bit. Also if its a grey horse i'd shoot a tad 
faster to
avoid the white part 
to overblown.
