Help me out folks. Hi Scoot, If you are careful enough, there is no way you can damage the focusing machanism by rotating the screw: that's what it is supposed to do, to rotate... Even if you turn it full clockwise or counter-clockwise you cannot do any harm. You should rotate the coupling screw COMPLETELY (which direction I do not recall now) and then check in the viewfinder if you can obtain focus at infinity.
