The DS has Auto ISO too (embedded in the Custom Setup functions in Firmware 1.x revisions, as an explicit Fn menu choice in Firmware 2.0). You only get Auto ISO when you set the Fn menu's ISO choice to Auto in the DL (or DS with rev 2 firmware).

From a sensor and image quality standpoint, the DL is identical to the DS. it has a slightly faster bus, like the DS2 does. The flash options are more limited (P-TTL, even with an external flash, for metered flash). The pentaprism is replaced with a pentamirror and viewfinder magnification has been juggled a little to give similar apparent brightness. Focusing screens are non-interchangeable. The AF system has 3 focus points rather than 11. The DL has the larger LCD, now on the DS2 as well.

Otherwise, the two cameras are more the same than different. This is a good thing...

DS bodies have pretty much vanished from the marketplace. The DL is
available. Can anyone share opinions/experience about the DL? One "feature"
than scares me is Auto ISO. Can it be disabled?
