->Actually, it looked like he was talking about TTL metering, not TTL
->flash. It's possible that his old Praktica might not meter through the
->lens, or he might be referring to open-aperture metering.

damn straight, It's a Practika PL Nova 1B, with a selenium meter above the
lens, readout next to the film rewind knob.
After seeing all these replies, and some extensive research on the net, I'm
going to pick it up tomorrow, as long as the meter's accurate, and the prism
isn't out of whack. Then I just need a lens for it, don't think my budget
will stretch to the desired 43/2.8 though.
Woohoo, can't wait. (Unless of course someone's bought it between 3pm
yesterday and 11am today, in which case I'll be kicking myself for a long
time.)
Thanks everyone who's replied so far, and if anyone knows of a cheap, say
35/50mm lens in Australia/Brisbane, please let me know.
