Okay that makes sense. I'm using the Hoya R72. I use very little of the
green and blue, but a touch is sometimes helpful.

I supose this depends on the filter. While there may be information
left
in the green and blue channels with something like a Hoya R72, there's
definitely nothing of any use in those channels with a #87. Trying to
crank them up would only result in more noise.
