This last paragraph is the most important, I think. It's the first
coherent statement of Pentax about the future of cameras in a long
time. We can very well call it the Pentax credo.
So the future is about style, compactness and ergonomics, no matter
if it's digital or film based. Technology is not the selling point
anymore for Pentax, just a bit of touch here and there, in the
critical points. Distinctive look and a Pentax way. So Pentax is
finally building an image. Fine with me: I always hated to be
dragged in the mainstream.

PJ> The Future Form of 35mm SLR Cameras
PJ> "If you think a camera's control system is too complicated or
PJ> troublesome for the first time you use it, you may start to
PJ> dislike the camera and seldom use it afterward. Eventually you
PJ> may stop enjoying photography altogether - even if the camera
PJ> offers the finest performance and quality. That's why we were
PJ> particularly concerned about the MZ-S's control system. Because
PJ> of its unconventional styling, people may at first glance be a
PJ> little hesitant to try it out. But once you lay your hands on
PJ> this camera, you will be surprised by its outstanding feel and
PJ> flawless operation. We wanted the MZ-S to be the camera that
PJ> people take with them everywhere they go. If you still prefer a
PJ> camera with either a digital or analog control system, that's fine
PJ> - because we believe our users deserve choice. Pentax offers all
PJ> three types in its 35mm SLR lineup to meet every user's
PJ> preference. But, by incorporating the new hybrid control system
PJ> and a host of sophisticated features into one of the most
PJ> compact bodies available today - without any frills or gimmicks -
PJ> we are confident that we have successfully developed a truly
PJ> epoch-making camera, which points to the future of 35mm SLR
PJ> photography. We hope all photographers - both advanced and
PJ> beginners - will take the opportunity to experience the MZ-S
PJ> firsthand, and see and feel the real difference!"
