I missed the original post but there are three possibilities I can think of.

1. Check that the exposure compensation is set to zero. The ASA ring is locked if there's any compensation set (this is a feature). 2. The ring itself could be jammed, which is apparently common if it's not been used for a while. I'm told it's a pretty easy repair. 3. Maybe the pushbutton-ring-release mechanism is broken somehow. This is pretty unlikely, which is good because you probably don't want to need spare parts for a K2.

I'm jealous that you found such a nice kit... is it a silver or a black K2?

I recall someone on this list mentioning the K2 ASA ring has a common fault. But I can't find it in the archives (sorry, wasn't paying attention at the time of the thread). Mine seems to be stuck - press the ASA button, and no way does the ring want to turn. Is this something easily fixable?
