Hi,
it's for you to decide whether it's worth it. I've had a few photos
scanned onto Kodak Photo CD, both Pro and normal versions. The Pro one
is excellent, but very expensive and probably not worth the money
unless you want huge enlargements. The standard scans depend very much
on the operator. I took the same slides to several different labs,
including Kodak, to evaluate them. The winner was not Kodak,
surprisingly enough. The winner was a pro lab (I'm in London) who have
given me consistent & excellent quality. The others, including Kodak,
appeared to have machines operated my monkeys and the quality was poor
with no attention given to the work at all.
