Update: Well, I finally got eBay to remove the copyright-infringing listing. Here's the ordeal: As you would expect if you know eBay at all, it took a long time to find the relevant section of their web site. They've succeeded in hiding it very well... but not well enough :) Then, all intellectual property claims must be filed via *fax*, not email. So I downloaded their PDF form, filled in out completely and faxed it to them. Next I get an email saying they can't address my claim because I didn't give the item number of the infringing listing. I double-checked the fax I sent and found that I *did* include the item number - right on the page they specified and in the correct location. With the appropriate "reason code". So I email back and point this out to them. The next day I received another email stating that they can't address my claim because I only gave 9 digits of the item number instead of all 10. I go back and look at the original fax and, as you may have guessed, they're wrong again: I gave all 10 digits (and they are the correct ones for the item in question). I send another "no, you're wrong, I did everything right the first time" message. Today they finally caved in and removed the listing. -- Mark Roberts Photography & Multimedia www.robertstech.com 412-687-2835 -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
