IF we will all contribute, and IF we will all critique fairly, then the good photographers will have that fact confirmed. And the "not so good" (most likely includes me) will work at becoming better, or perhaps, just stop submitting. The PUG will grow in BOTH submissions AND quality.
After all, it is the: "Pentax _Users_ Gallery" "A gallery of images produced by the members of the Pentax-Discuss Mailing List" Nowhere in the "submission guidelines" does it state that one must be a great photographer to participate. Nor does it state that great photographers may not. How can a photographer judge the merit of his/her own work if he/she can't view it side by side with the work of others, on a "level playing field" such as the PUG? By level I mean that we are all subject to the same submission guidlines. You don't wish to display excellent work next to crap. I don't wish to display crap next to excellent work. So I guess I'll just have to work a little harder at my craft then you. Who loses? No one that I can see. You get to display excellent work, I get to learn. Sounds very fair to me, and I have the harder road to travel. ;-) Don > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of > Tom C > Sent: Thursday, June 22, 2006 10:38 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: RE: PUG Challenge! > > > >So, who's willing to be part of the solution, instead of > >part of the problem? > >Shel, Tom, Frank, Bill, Cotty, Aaron, Adam, Ann, Paul, > >Bob, Bob, Bob, Boris, Dave, Bruce, Christian, Don, Marnie, > >Jens, Jack, John x4, Joe, Keith, Ken, Mark, Mike, Peter? > >Heck, That's about 30 right there! > > > >Don (Thank you Adelheid!) > > > > Not me.
