Hi Ann

All you need is a card reader to use Windows 98.  I now have WinXP but
I still download to the computer via a card reader.

Peter is right - the Pentax software doesn't run on 98 so, if you
shoot RAW you need another raw converter.

One you could consider is Silkypix - it has a free mode and it will
run on 98.

No need to go to Windows 2000 unless you really want to....
