No, but the shutter could be.

I know there'sa guy here in Toronto who killed a Nikon D70 that way in 6 
weeks.

Of course, he did 105000 or so exposures. Guy is a Pomerian breeder who 
would shoot his pups with models. His technique came down to continuous 
advance and hoping the pups did something cute.
