Hmm. The manual seems to be missing on the Pentax USA site now. I believe I downloaded it in the past and have a copy on my desktop system at home, I'll check when I get back there.
The Pentax A 2x-S Rear Converter is basically usable with almost any lens. I've used it in conjunction with the A50/2.8 Macro, M85/2, FA135/2.8 IF, FA77/1.8, and F100-300/4.5-5.6, all with very good results. The "2x-L" version is optimized for specific long lenses beyond 300mm and have protruding front elements which can cause mechanical interference problems. The 2x-S works with anything else. I find it a very well made and excellent performer. It does not support auto focus, but all the electronic contacts are supported so you have all metering modes and capabilities of the late model bodies except for AF.
