It is at maximum aperture for focusing/framing as it has the standard  
auto-iris diaphragm. However, at exposure time it will always stop  
down to minimum aperture because the aperture regulator is dependent  
upon the body to set a desired f/number. The LX does not have the  
appropriate iris control mechanism for a more lens used in the "A"  
position, which is how the DA lenses appear to a body.
