But DagT is right (for at least some environments).

For instance, it is known that indigenous Australians, in 
northern regions, used fire to modify the landscape for thousands 
of years. Fire is also a natural phenomenon for much of the 
country. Further, there is evidence that the planting of exotic 
grasses alters the nature of the fires (time and intensity).

One of the more controversial management issues up here is, 
therefore, what sort of fire regime should we have? The "natural" 
one? The one imposed by indigenous Australians? Some other 
regime? If so, what?
