Both Canada and the US are major food exporters. In fact the primary source of grain for the world is North America. Both countries export grains and beef by the shipload.
Food imports into Canada and the US are almost entirely luxury foods and foods which won't grow in our climate. Also, to Marnie's claim that teh California Cnetral valley used to feed most of the US is extremely incorrect. The Central Valley was a major source of fruits and vegetables, especially Citrus fruit (Which was exported as far as eastern Canada), but the primary growng regions in North America are Southern ontario & the Eastern Townships, the Ohio and Cumberland valleys along with the grain producing plains and prairies. -Adam DagT wrote: > Wow, if you are feeding a large part of the world with food it really > explains why you are so popular, and why you have the world record in > debt to other countries. > > DagT > > Den 23. jul. 2006 kl. 20.57 skrev P.
