It works very well: very sharp and contrasty even wide open. Rendering is a mix of good and bad ... some f/openings and distances it's great, others it's a little harsh. My biggest issue with the FA135/2.8 is that the manual focus feel is a little loose and imprecise, too quick in the range near infinity which makes it hard to focus wide open near infinity sometimes.
