Often it's the sheer numbers involved in an event (or alleged to be
involved) that prove or disprove a conspiracty theory. The "faked
moonshot" theory is (as you say) a perfect example.

There are a number of crackpots out there who actually believe that
commercial, military and strange white unmarked aircraft (including
scheduled commercial airliners) are involved in a plot of spray
chemicals on an unsuspecting public. Without getting into alleged
details, the scope of these operations are supposed to be so huge that
the silence and complicity of tens of thousands of airline mechanics,
maintenance staff, pilots and other staff would be required.

The flip side of it, of course, is where millions are ~supposed~ to be
involved, but clearly aren't. It has been said with some seriousness
that up to 10% of North Americans are being abducted by aliens
~nightly~ up to the mothership for genetic experiments/breeding.
These people are supposed to float through open windows, even right
through solid walls, and up to the ship. Yet no one sees them
floating en masse? No husbands have ever woken up to find the little
woman missing at 3am? No kids have ever come into the room to see
mommy and/or daddy floating out the window?

Between Canada and the US, there are what, 300 million people? 10%
would make it - wait, just a minute, carry the 3, put the point over
there, and yup, 30 million people abducted every night without a
trace.

Right.

cheers,
frank, who is an abductee, but realizes he's one of the few (or as he
likes to say, "blessed")
