And on simply practical terms it must that in the case of the crackpot with the WTC demolition ideas, exposing his ideas to the public will, well... expose them to the public. Where they'll be seen by anyone with enough neurons to form a synapse as the nonsense they are. Silencing him will suggest there's something really there to be hidden.
