So your experience is different. I don't have a problem seeing the effect of the DOF lever in the viewfinder, I don't see a difference in focus on the rear viewer unless the focus is way off. I know a couple of people who can't separate the darkening of the image from the apparent change in image focus. No matter how many times I explain it to them. It's not a fault, I haven't figured out if it's a mental block or a vision problem, I certainly don't think any less of them because of it. I suppose for some people, and in some circumstances the DOFP would work. It still only works on static shots. Since the optical DOF works better for me I still think it's mostly silly, an attempt to have a feature that looks in print like the Olydak live preview, even though it isn't.
