Good point, Aaron. That's one of the reasons that the
Canon isn't my top choice. I don't want to be a guinea
pig. Still, I supppose it's possible that out of the
box Canon may hit a home run. Who knows? Years and
years ago I gave my Dad my old BJ series bubble jet
(circa 1992) and it still prints like a charm. 

Still, the Epson is a little less expensive. And, with
fewer inks will be cheaper in the long run.
