The R1800 does not use the K3 inkset.

If you are printing B&W, the K3 inkset is fantastic. Also the R2400  
ink carts are larger capacity and that leads to lower cost printing  
over time.

FWIW, I have not had a single clog with the R2400. It sits for weeks  
at a time, then is pushed into frantic production. For me, it has  
produced nothing but consistent, high quality prints with complete  
reliability.

My 1270 was a mess with clogging, particularly when I strayed from  
Epson inks.
