The Pentax units are certainly more accurate than the other bottom-shelf AF units (Nikon's Multi-CAM 900, Canon's Rebel units). It's not up to the top-shelf units though (Multi-CAM 2000, Canon's 45-point unit) which are simply light-years ahead of SAFOX VIII in performance. It's as good as the mid-range units from other makers, which it essentially is. Note it will outperform the 20D and 30D with slow lenses, accuracy-wise but put a faster lens on them and they'll match it. The reason is that Canon's AF units (except for the Rebel's) have two modes, and High-precision mode requires fast glass to be activated (f2.8 or faster for the 20D/30D/5D and f4 for the EOS 1v/1D/1Ds/3) -Adam -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
