I'm not Paul. I have a couple of Canon lenses and a 10D body left in
my closet.

If I were not very happy with the Pentax gear I have already, and
looking forward to the K10D or whatever they actually call the
10Mpixel body, I would have no problem going with a Nikon D200. My
brother bought one recently and I like it much more than the Canon
20D-30D. The viewfinder is terrific, much better than the Canon, the
17-35/2.8D ED lens is fantastic. Nikon has finally gotten over the
poor ergonomics of the 1990s bodies that I disliked so much, and I
was always very pleased with their lenses (30+ years of using Nikon
and Leica gear...).

In a way, I'm miffed it took them this long to come out with a body
that I could work with. I had a dozen or so super Nikkor AI-S series
lenses that would have been excellent with the D200, which I sold in
2000 because I just didn't believe they'd ever produce a body that I
liked again.

My Canon gear never let me down, but it never gave me the pleasure
that I had working with Nikon gear and now Pentax gear. I am pretty
sure that the upcoming 10Mpixel Pentax body will do anything I need,
the *ist DS is already sooo close, and I do love the Pentax lens kit
I've put together.
