I was thinking of a new lens used on an old body such as my PZ-1p.

In any case, I'm sure that bodies don't know everything about all
possible lenses (especially lenses designed after the body was
released), so there's always the possibility a lens might end up
getting a signal to activate a function that lens doesn't support.
