  John,
  I'm afraid you have to fit the original screen for this, take a spot
  reading of some uniformly lit area, then replace it with the split
  prism screen and measure the very same point, using the same lens.
  Frankly, I expect 0.5-1 stops difference.

  Good approach. We're too close to our tools to be scientifically
