I would disegree, here. The LX IS indeed smarter then other cameras in that it performs an integration of the light reaching its sensor DURING the exposure, unlike most cameras. That's why if you suddenly have a light entering your low light scene the shutter snaps instantly close. Pentax engineers called it IDM-Integrated Direct Metering (I think).
