I bought a Tokina 28-80 f/2.8 ATX Pro and its 80-200 counterpart via B&H.
The 80-200 had problems with its AF on my PZ1ps. I sent it back to the US
distributor, who couldn't get it to fail on any other AF camera body, but
needed to bring in a Z1p to test it on. I needed the lens back for a job
before they could get the body, so they just replaced it on faith.

I don't think the comparable Pentax options are reasonably priced next to
the Tokinas, which offer excellent optical performance. I also could have
gone with Sigma, and they seemed quite plentiful in town, but I didn't think
their build quality would take hard use. I am satisfied both with the
lenses and the service department of the US distributor.

DO NOT under any circumstances buy Tokina from the Canadian distributor,
whose name I forget. They are terminally disorganized and were unable to
provide the lenses, even two months after I paid a $500 deposit with a local
dealer!

Cheers,

Mike
