If your point is "largely" this, what is it specifically?

The posts you dredged back onto the list today, at least the ones
which quoted me, were not a "strenuous defense of Pentax when 6Mpixel
was all they had to offer". They were a response to your negative
criticisms that Pentax only had 6Mpixel to offer, as in 'why bother
with the K100D and K110D at all?'

I've been saying since January at least that I was waiting for the
next significant upgrade before buying a new body, and that I
appreciated the added capabilities afforded by 10Mpixel images out of
the Sony R1. When the K100D appeared, I thought it was a good
incremental improvement and a good draw to new users, but not enough
of a significant upgrade to the DS for my desires. I wanted the image
stabilization AND more resolution AND a few other things to make my
next body purchase significant.

10Mpixel is useful to me because I print mostly 11x14 to 13x19 inch
sizes. If I printed mostly 4x6 to 8x12, it would be less of an
advantage. 6Mpixel has made excellent prints in these sizes and will
continue to, but the improvement in resolution makes a difference
particularly for wide angle work and work with lots of fine detail in
it ... a large percentage of my work is with 14-24mm focal lengths.

Seems to me that you largely dismiss any comments on negativism and
skepticism as irrelevant or wrong without listening to what is being
said.
