It feels pretty good for manual focus. I'd say it's better than FA50/1.4. 
Compared to A50/1.4, they feel quite different. The focus ring of the 77/1.8 
feels a bit light but firm. The front won't rotate.

It has a built-in hood which is a bit short IMO. But then the lens is pretty 
compact too so you cannot ask too much. But you can always put on a square 
hood from Pentax if you must (still being made - one for 50mm (deeper) and 
one for 28/35mm).

Other than its price, I can see nothing bad about this lens.
