The Danish Pentax importer has announced that the K10D will be available at the end of October. Priced at 1500 USD (things are so expensive here).
German "Foto Koch" already has the K10D advertised at a price of 929 Euro = 1177 USD. The kit version includes the 3.5-5.6 18-55mm Pentax lens. The kit is priced @ 999 Euro = 1266 USD (including 16% VAT - without the VAT it's appr. 1100 USD for comparison. I'll gladly glad spend this much for this extraordinary camera. This is nearly the same price that I paid for my D, two years ago. I guess I'm ordering a K10D shortly. And I'll need an extra Lithium Ion battery and a SD to CF adaptor for my Flash Trax 40GB storage device. I hope it comes with a battery charger?
