I'm back from a few days in Italy--Milan, Venice, Porto Venere. The trip
was mainly for a conference in Porto Venere, so there was only a little
chance for photography. Because of this I took only a minimal kit--*ist
D, DA 21, DA 40, and A 50 F1.2. The DA 21 got a workout, and proved
consistently to be a good focal length for architecture and landscapes.

There were, of course, a lot of people lugging around big, heavy Nikons
& Canons, with enormous zoom lenses. I caught several of them glancing
at my diminutive D with its tiny DA 21. In Porto Venere I walked past a
pro photographing a wedding with a big Canon L lens. Even she glanced at
my petite kit.

I'll never get through all of the back posts on the K10D. I gather there
is no indication that it can take replaceable batteries. Bummer. Did we
learn which is the killer feature for which Aaron would sell a kidney?
Is it the fly paper in the mirror box?

I'll probably get one, but I'll gripe about some of its specifications,
particularly the battery. (I'm not a grip guy, so please don't recommend
that.)

My DA 21 is a tired little pup. I'll have to rest it for a few days.

Joe
