Sounds possible. The competition for the 645D is the Canon 1Ds-II, which is around $8000. If you'd asked me six months ago if I thought Pentax could bring the 645D in under $10,000 I'd have said no way. After the appearance of the K10D at under $1000 I'd say it may actually be possible. Especially if, as rumored, the 645D shared a lot of its electronics and firmware with the K10D. I still don't think I'd bite, though. The cropped image sensor means my current 645 wide angles would become normals (or semi-normals). I'd have to buy new lenses and if I'm looking at buying a new body *and* new lenses to go with it, the Canon 1Ds-II makes more sense. Even though the MF camera should have better noise characteristics, the range of lenses available would make the decision for me. -- Mark Roberts Photography & Multimedia www.robertstech.com 412-687-2835 -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
