While I do not doubt that the hardware Samsung is selling is the same as Pentax I would be very concerned about support. Take a look at this thread from DPReview: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1001&message=20060190 Apparently (and not surprisingly) the Samsung DSLRs cannot be updated with the recent Pentax firmware updates. Samsung has yet to release their version of the update (SDHC support). I looked through Samsung's web site and there is no mention of firmware updates for the DSLRs or any other model they sell!. Their customer support also sounds pretty clueless about this issue and on other basic questions as the one posted in the thread. Under the current circumstances I would pay a premium a buy a Pentax branded camera.
