I mentioned a week or 2 ago that I was reading "Journey to the Centre of the Earth" by Nicholas and Richard Crane, and that they took an MX with them across the Himalayas, Tibet, Gobi, Taklamakan etc.
Well, one of the stories they tell is that the camera did, in fact, break down. But in Golmud they happened to see a Japanese person who had a bulky camera bag, so they went over to talk to him. He turned out to be carrying 3 Pentaxes, and he willingly sold one of them to the Cranes, and they all became firm friends there and then and maintained their friendship well after the expedition was finished. "What", they wondered, "are the chances of finding a Pentax body in Golmud? Or, for that matter, Tibet or even the whole of China? Let alone finding someone to sell it?". -- Cheers, Bob > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On > Behalf Of Jens Bladt > Sent: 23 September 2006 08:55 > To: Pentax-Discuss Mail List > Subject: RE: The Pentax Way > > Yes, Shel. > Photography is truely a great hobby.
