No, no, no You can't bring logic into any discussion about football.
Recently the body that controls soccer in Australia decreed that hencefoth the name "soccer" was not to be used and that the round ball game would be called "football". Fair enough, I suppose - but then they retained the name "Socceroos" for the national team. Nobody seems to think that there's anything even slightly illogical (ie. stupid) about that.
