Maybe. Maybe not.
Every year in the US there is a rifle match known as the John C. Garand
Match. Only specific US military rifles are allowed. The point is not for
everyone to be on an equal footing as evidenced by the fact that only
"...any "as-issued" U. S. service rifle including the M1 Garand, M1903
Springfield, M1917 Enfield, M1941 Johnson or .30 Cal. M1 Carbine." may be
used. These rifles have *significantly* different capabilities. The shooters
shoot. Scores are kept and a prize is awarded. One might assume that the
competition is about the marksman, his ability to hold tight groups and
score high. It's not. The match is about "...those who served" in our nation
's Armed Services and who carried the Garand rifle in the defense of our
country."
I know that analogy isn't perfect. No analogy is, else it would be the thing
itself. The point is, folks do their best, other folks comment. Some look at
the gallery to enjoy the accomplishments of others, some perhaps to learn
something.
Still, the point of the gallery is not us, or even our photos. The point is
Pentax. That's why it's called The Pentax Users Gallery". It's amazing to me
that folks would think that such a gallery would be about us or our photos.
Your desires are not without merit. If the membership wants a gallery
dedicated to themselves and not dedicated to Pentax (use any mix of
equipment), why don't one of you start a "Pentax Discussion List Members
Photo Gallery"? Get space on a server, and do the work to keep it up
yourself. I'm sure Wheatfield Willie will be glad to share the knowledge
he's gained working on the PUG. I have a few shots out of my Graphic I'd
like to post there.
That's my opinion.
Regards,
Bob...
