I've got no idea if his expectations are unrealistic but I've read and seen enough to know that the slight disadvantages will be far outweighed by the significant advantages of a low density FF sensor. I'm not prepared to have to deal with the compromises that have to be endured as ASP sized sensors become more dense. I see this as the same argument that existed between 35mm and MF film cameras. If you want better image quality, move up to MF! Today Canon is the only manufacture offering 24X36 sensors in a 35 mm style body. The market seems to be moving to the APSC sensor as the standard for that body style and I suspect MF DSLR's will gain in popularity and we will end up where we were with film; the APSC sensor for 35mm style camera's and MF for those applications requiring the higher image quality. I am looking forward to seeing the 645D, not because I will purchase one, I will be quite content with the likes of the K10D and it's up market sibling when it arrives, but because it will likely offer better image quality than Canon's FF sensor at an affordable, and perhaps even competitive price.
