The 'works on the Mac' issue is probably related to the Intel 
transition, likely the Universal Binary is due in a month.

Moot point since the mac pro's aren't that much faster than the last-gen 
G5's, it's the Single-dual core switch, as well as the mobile units, 
where the speed gains occured.
