Yes, the differences are (in degrees): f Hor Vert Diag 12 90.0 67.4 100.5 14 81.2 59.5 91.7 16 73.7 53.1 84.1 I have the DA14/2.8 and I like it a lot. My next shortest lens is the FA20-35. The DA12-24/4 is a fine lens too, albeit I think the DA14 is a bit sharper and better corrected. 90 degrees across the diagonal seems to be a magic number for me too..
